GENERAL:
The following information is provided to aid roofing consumers when preparing and submitting a workmanship related claims for roofing projects that are covered by the ARCA Warranty Ltd. Warranty Certificate (W.C.).
Workmanship related leaking is where moisture penetrates the waterproof or watershed component of the roofing system into the interior of the structure during the warranty term subject to certain conditions.
Reported claims shall be investigated by the contractor of record or by ARCA Warranty Ltd. The owner or their agent shall allow reasonable time to conduct the claim investigation and if necessary, for repairs to be completed during normal business hours. The building owner shall take the necessary steps to limit damage to their property until this process can be completed. The liability of the roofing contractor and ARCA Warranty Ltd. shall in no case extend to damage or loss occurring in respect of the building or its contents or any business interruption or loss occasioned by the tenant or occupant of the building. ARCA Warranty Ltd's liability is limited to the original cost of the labour and materials for the roof installation.
If after investigating a reported claim, it is determined that the leaking is not workmanship related, the owner or their agent will be invoiced for all costs associated with the claim investigation and the repair undertaken.
Should the claim be accepted as workmanship related, the contractor of record or ARCA Warranty Ltd. will undertake repairs at no cost to the building owner.
REPORTING:
Claims Occurring in Years 1 and 2 of Warranty Term
Leaks, defects and sheet metal flashing claims resulting from faulty workmanship occurring in years one (1) and two (2) of the warranty term shall be reported to the roofing contractor of record identified at the top of each warranty certificate.
Should the contractor of record be unable or unwilling to honor their responsibility under the terms of the warranty agreement, then claims shall be submitted in writing to ARCA Warranty Ltd.
Claims Occurring During the Remainder of the Warranty Term
Leak claims resulting from faulty workmanship occurring during the remainder of the warranty term shall be reported in writing to:

SUBMISSION:
One of the benefits of ARCA Warranty Ltd.'s claim procedure is that decisions are made locally by ARCA Warranty Ltd. representatives.
Report claims to the appropriate party as soon as practical and in no case no more than thirty (30) days after occurrence. To assist ARCA administration with the efficient retrieval of information, the Certificate Number found in the upper left-hand corner of the warranty certificate is to be referenced on all correspondence.
Submissions shall include information substantiating the claim including a description of roofing defects observed, the nature of the leaking being experienced, the weather conditions at the time of leaking, approximate location(s) as well as any general information relating to the leak.
ARCA Warranty Ltd. recommends that a marked-up roof plan showing suspected leak location(s) accompany the claim letter. For commercial projects, roof plans are included in the warranty binder and are bound behind the warranty certificate.
