This course will introduce the applicable Codes and Acts that govern construction in Alberta. Having the knowledge of where to locate and how to navigate and interpret these documents will provide participants confidence and experience in researching solutions within these documents. Roofers will be challenged to find answers to common code questions, interpreting code clauses and what to do where codes overlap.
- Navigation of the various codes : NBC, NFC, ABC, AFC, OH&S
- Fire resistance, uplift resistance, roof drainage re-roofing
- Trade definitions and the importance of scope of duties as defined in Alberta will be reviewed.
PREREQUISITE
Reading assignment to be completed prior to class.
