This course will provide the tools important in producing a professional and accurate estimate for a typical roofing project. Components of a successful estimate include reviewing many sections of the specifications, drawings and bid information. All elements that affect the profitability of a job will be considered including permits, work hours and trade scheduling. While there are many software programs available we will look at the importance of data management and the elements to be included in a good estimating worksheet. Students will learn how to consider elements like weather, location, safety and labour and the impact on the profitability of a job.
Mobilization and scheduling with other trades will be introduced and strategies given to address a variety of roofing-specific case studies.
